چکیده
An Electronic textbook is a popular kind of educational applications onWorld Wide Web (WWW). We claim that adaptivity is especially important forWWW-based educational applications which are expected to be used by verydifferent groups of users without assistance of a human teacher. In this paper we describe an approach fordeveloping adaptive electronic textbooks and present InterBook anauthoring tool based on this approach which simplifies the development ofadaptive electronic textbooks on WWW.

User Modeling and Adaptive Navigation Support in WWW-Based Tutoring Systems
Most learning systems and electronic textbooks accessible via the WWW up to now lack the capabilities of individualized help and adapted learning support that are the emergent features of on-site intelligent tutoring systems. This paper discusses the problems of developing interactive and adaptive learning systems on the WWW. We introduce ELM-ART II, an intelligent interactive textbook to suppo...
متن کاملUser as Student: Towards an Adaptive Interface for Advanced Web-Based Applications
This paper discusses the problems of developing adaptive self-explaining interfaces for advanced World-Wide Web (WWW) applications. Two kinds of adaptation are considered: incremental learning and incremental interfaces. The key problem for these kinds of adaptation is to decide which interface features should be explained or enabled next. We analyze possible ways to implement incremental learn...
متن کاملCreating Adaptive Interface by Mining Web Log
Today, World Wide Web (WWW) has become largest source of information which serves needs of expanding group of users. Some complex web application and bulky data offered by them often lead user to confusion. Adaptive interface is means which are area of focus of many researchers handle this problem efficiently. In this paper, we are going to review existing approaches which use web log data for ...
متن کاملAdaptive Interaction with Web Sites: an Overview of Methods and Techniques
The World Wide Web (WWW) tends to become the main medium supporting access to information and services to an expanding group of users. The increasing complexity of existing web applications and the volume of data offered often result in user disorientation. Adaptive interaction is proposed by many researchers as an effective means for tackling this problem. In this paper, we present and review ...
متن کاملELM-ART: An Intelligent Tutoring System on World Wide Web
Making ITS available on the World Wide Web (WWW) is a way to integrate the flexibility and intelligence of ITS with world-wide availability of WWW applications. This paper discusses the problems of developing WWW-available ITS and, in particular, the problem of porting existing ITS to a WWW platform. We present the system ELMART which is a WWW-based ITS to support learning programming in Lisp. ...
